Each year, a select number of nurses participate in the Evidence-Based Fellowship program, which supports them in implementing evidence-based projects in their departments. At the end of the program, the Fellows present their projects to nursing colleagues at the Evidence-Based Practice and Innovation Symposium.
John Muir Health supports a culture of innovation and professional growth. Our nurses are dedicated to implementing best practices and current research to improve clinical outcomes for patients and families. One way this is achieved is through the Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) Fellowship program.
Throughout the course of the nine month program, clinical nurses, from a variety of specialty areas, learn how to apply the skills of research utilization, problem identification, and solution testing to promote the adoption of EBP. Each fellow is supported by an experienced coach and trained faculty. This program has led to successful changes that improved outcomes and experiences.
